A native of Mott, North Dakota, BOB DENVER has spent over 35 years in the Bismarck/ Mandan market. He got into radio part-time in college, and never looked back. He knew he was big time when he was hired as a KFYR AM air personality in 1972. Bob knew he wanted to get into management and ownership right away because as he says, “I don’t like taking orders.” Bob returned to Bismarck-Mandan in 1979 as general manager of Y-93 and stayed 16 years working for Meyer Broadcasting. He became an Owner-Partner-General Manager for KBYZ, KCAL, KKCT, and KLXX from 1994 to 2001, then became General Manager for Cumulus Broadcasting for a few years before becoming Owner/Partner/GM of a cluster of 5 other stations for a couple of years. He became VP/GM of Clear Channel Radio Bismarck/Dickinson, which included stations KBMR, KFYR, KQDY, KSSS, KXMR, KYYY, KLTC, KCAD, and KZRX until January 2011.
In August of 2011 after a summer of golf, Bob took a leap of faith and created the new MOJO 107.5 from scratch. He hand-picked the station format, the consultant, the facility and the announcers. He serves as (6am-9am weekdays) MOJO Morning Show host, he is the station General Manager, and sole Owner of MOJO 107.5 (KXRV-FM – formerly The River) and sister station The BIG RIG 105.9 (KKBO-FM – formerly BOB-FM).
In 2011 Bob Denver was named the recipient of the prestigious North Dakota Broadcasters Association “Pioneer Award.”
