BIG Q’S CASSETTE CLASSIC
OGDEN EDSL – DEAD PUPPIES
If you’ve ever wondered to yourself…”how boring is it in Nebraska”. Pretty damn boring I’d guess. After all, you’d have to be bored to write a song about dead puppies.
The group was called Ogden Edsl, from Omaha, Nebraska. I first heard about them from Dr. Demento, who also introduced us to Weird Al. This is one of the first indicators that I was not like the friends in my group. I, of course, being perfectly normal, and them, odd.
When I hear the line…”Dead Puppies, aren’t much fun.” I think, you’re right. How could’ve I not have seen this before. It’s so obvious. So, when I heard the song, I laughed till I hurt because it’s so true. When I played it for others, they said that it was gross. And I’m like, why? It’s not like I’m killing the puppies. They’re already dead. I’m like a detective sent in to see the clues.
“Well. Dead Puppy. In the hall. Obviously, this puppy is not much fun. Won’t be chasing squirrels anytime soon, will it? No, it will not.”
All I hear back is…”you’re sick!”
Nope. I feel fine. In fact, I feel “Perfectly Normal”. Then they’d demand that I fast forward the cassette. And I’d of course refuse because why would I fast forward a classic. It’s the reason why it’s on the cassette in the first place.
I’ll leave you be now, so you can get back to taking yourself way to seriously. While I go back to laughing at the obvious. Dead Puppies aren’t much fun.
